Hi I have a medical question. I have a lump on the inner portion of my elbow. It doesn t feel like part of the bone, however it is a hard knot. I am unable to straighten and bend my arm fully without some level of pain and discomfort. I also have weakness, numbness and tingling in my arm and hand. I m just curious as to what this may be and how concerned I should be. Thanks in advance for your advice.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. As per the history, you have a lump at the inner aspect of elbow and also have tingling and numbness at the forearm and hand. This indicates that the lump is pressing on the Ulnar nerve causing you hte symptoms. I would advise you the following: Consult a General Surgeon and/or an Orthopedic Surgeon for clinical evaluation and examination, nerve conduction study, MRI of the affected area to see whether this lump is something different than the nerve or a part of the nerve. Once confirmed further management can be done easily. Getting the proper diagnosis is the key to the proper treatment. Till then continue exercises of the affected part by active exercises so that the power is not lost totally. Take multivitamins and nerve tonics under Doctor's prescription.
